THE CONTEXT
Siissu had one goal, to create the best swim training suit on the market. From Muthafunk® we wanted to turn that into a powerful and inspiring purpose. Opening the brand to other future possibilities and reflecting the impact that its products, services or content could have on the world: supporting the physical, mental and emotional development of children.
We were looking for a name with identity, that felt friendly and childlike while, in its essence, it breathed strength, courage and bravery in the face of adversity. We developed a graphic universe composed of colors, patterns and bubbles that allowed us to articulate each of the brand’s applications, including the product.
The system, composed of different plates that adhere to the outside of the swimsuit to provide different levels of buoyancy, needed an aesthetic design. After experimenting with different recognizable shapes, we realized that creating our own characters would not only give the brand its own identity, but would also allow us to generate a story that we could tell to those children and work with emotion. The story of beings who have come to help and support them in their learning process.
